Fixed braces are firmly attached to your teeth and remain there throughout your orthodontic treatment, meaning that the outcome is consistent and effective as they’re always working! They incorporate ceramic (tooth coloured) or metal brackets and are connected together by a wire which gradually ensures your teeth move into their correct position.
Your teeth are held in place in your jawbone by your periodontal ligament, this is a soft tissue which can accommodate pressure placed onto it.
