Dental hygiene cleaning, also known as a scale and polish is a professional teeth cleaning treatment provided by your Dentist or Hygienist. It is a preventative dental procedure using specialised instruments and an ultra sonic scaler to ensure maintenance of your oral health to assist in gum disease prevention.
Comprehensive cleaning: Your Dentist will recommended how often you require a hygiene clean and at each appointment you will receive cleaning of your teeth and gums, removing plaque and tartar from your teeth.
Oral Hygiene advice: We might be the experts, but we need your help continuing your oral hygiene routine at home everyday. We work together, providing you with the scientific advice you require and showing you how to practically and effectively clean your teeth and gums. You will receive specific cleaning techniques based on your dentition, including brushing, flossing and the use of interdental brushes.
Polishing treatment; We make sure you leave with your teeth sparkling! Following your hygiene clean you will receive a professional polishing to complete your hygiene treatment and leave your breath fresh.
Gum measuring and health check; At London Dental Implant we are trained to clinically assess your gums. We take measurements called a Basic Periodontal Examination for every patient and with these we can determine your requirements and personalise your treatment and cleaning plan to ensure maximum results. Should you require more in depth measurements and treatment due to Periodontal disease (link to page) we also provide this within the practice.
